Anderson Residence
This two-story log home is 4400 square feet and was built in Kirkland, Arizona and designed by Kathleen Black. The angled log framed prow wall with large windows, the stepped roof at the gable ends, the large masonry fireplace, and the use of decorative log beams at the gable ends.
The scope of work included the design of this custom log home, a full complete set of building plans, and coordinating the structural engineering. This home was built on a slab-on-grade foundation. The exterior walls are 8x8 D-logs with butt & pass exterior corners. The roof is designed with a cut roof through the center and pre-engineered attic trusses on the ends. It has a large entry that opens up to a nice open vaulted living area with high ceilings with large decorative log and a beautiful log prow wall with large windows. It has a large master suite, a small office, 2 additional bedrooms with separate bathrooms, and a ½ bath on them level for guests. The exterior is primarily logs with log siding at the gable ends and dormers. The roofing material is asphalt shingles and a large chimney with a cultured stone façade is the perfect final touch.
